Zilker Elementary will be hosting a special information session for our 4th and 5th-grade parents and students. We understand that the transition to middle school can be both an exciting and anxious time for our students and families! The same can be said about the transition from 4th to 5th grade. Please make a plan to join AISD Elementary Counseling Coordinator Pam Martin, SEL Specialist Lynne Unruh, Zilker school counselor Elizabeth Vreeland, and me for an engaging and informative family night on Tuesday, March 27, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. The evening will include information on topics such as student organization, social peer interactions/pressure, student-parent relationships, and homework and school stress.
This session will include information for both parents and students and a time for parent only questions. We will have Austin High School PALS who will lead the students in several activities during the parent question and discussion time. Since we will have a limited number of PALS helping us, we ask that younger siblings not attend if possible. Pizza will be provided so please click the link below to RSVP by noon on Monday, March 26, so we know how much pizza to order.
