You can now order a school-supply kit for your Zilker Panther. We’ve worked with the teachers to approve the lists. All you have to do is order online and then pick up your kits on Fri, Aug 18th.
  • The pricing is great and we make a tiny profit, enough to buy kits for economically disadvantaged kids.
  • And, we’re offering Special Ed kits for sale, which you can purchase and donate. Our Special Ed teachers need supplies, too, though they don’t have a home-room class to provide those supplies.

Zilker CAC seeks new parent members

The Zilker CAC (Campus Advisory Council) invites interested parents to apply for a 2-year term, May 2017-April 2019 by submitting a CAC membership application by Friday, May 12th. Applications are available in the office and can be returned there.

The Zilker CAC is an important campus committee made up of Zilker Elementary school teachers, support staff, parents, and community members who meet with the Principal once a month from 3:15pm to ~4:00pm to discuss school-related issues and provide input on campus-level decisions, particularly those which address student needs and achievement. The last First Friday Dance Party will happen on Friday, May 5th in the gym at 7:25.  Be there!!!

The last Run Club with happen on Wednesday, May 24, at 7:15.  Meet on the track!

We have finished 3rd through 5th grade Fitnessgram assessments.  You can email me for the results or ask your children, they did a super job!

Family Book Study coming to Zilker!

The SEL department is hosting a family book study at Zilker for our families!  We will be exploring The Whole Brain Child, by Dr. Dan Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson.  In the 6 week book study, we will discuss 12 strategies to nuture your child’s developing mind.  We have a limited number of books to lend, so save your spot as soon as possible!  Please email Pam Martin or Elizabeth Vreeland if you are interested.  The book study will take place every Thursday from 8:00-9:15 in the office conference room from March 23-April 27.  Hope to see you there!
